Conditions of participation
Eligible to participate are professional singers accompanied by their pianists of any nationality, aged 20 to 40 (born after January, 1. 1981- Dezember 31, 2000) years for singers, and min. 20 years for pianists.
Participation is also possible without having an own accompaniment. In this case, an arrival two days before the start of the competition is required in order to rehearse with our pianists.
The winners of the competition agree to take part in the final concert (Friday, March 26, 2021), in a program compiled by the jury.
The arrival date for all participants with their accompanists is March 21, 2021.
Participation is at own expense. The participation fee is € 30 (accompanying pianist included) to be payed as part of conditions for the registration till 30.November 2020, 24:00.

Registration
To register for the competition, please fill out the full registration form and send it by Monday, November 30th, 2020 at midnight together with the following documents to: liedcompetition@gmail.com
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Due to the corona restrictions, it was decided to change the registration deadline as follows: December 23, 2020 (12:00 o´ clock in Görlitz).
Required Documents:
1. Completed registration form (English or German)
2. Current short biography (approx. 1200 characters)
3. Current representative photography (good quality)
4. Further link to a current demo recording (two audio or video, Lied/Oratorio/Opera)
5. Scan of an identity card.
6. Proof of payment of the admission fee (30 €)
Notice: Non-qualified artists will receive a refund of the participation fee, less eventual transfer fees. The confirmation of the qualification will be communicated within three days after the registration.

1st prize: € 6,000, recitals and 1 sound recording
2nd prize: € 4,000, recitals and 1 sound recording
3rd prize: € 2,000, recital and 1 sound recording
Special prize for the best piano accompaniment: € 1,000

Repertoire - rounds
Each participant should prepare a program of 12 songs (approximately 40 minutes) from the repertoire list below, including at least four Schubert songs and at least one song in Greek. The songs should be sung in the original language and by heart. Transposing is allowed. Separate songs from cycles are also allowed.
Note: If the 12 songs together last less than 35 minutes, several songs in a cycle (e.g. by Ravel, Lourié or Kralik) can be rated as one song.
